Contibution of all needed to transform Singrauli: MoS Akbar

Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs M J Akbar sought co-operation of all in comprehensive development of Singrauli and making it a public drive.Union MoS Akbar participated in the ‘Transform Singrauli’ drive being launched for speedy and comprehensive development of Singrauli. He interacted with senior officers of industrial organisations, district administration and public representatives under this drive at Officers’ Club of NCL at Singrauli.The Union Minister opined that after setting up of various industrial units, development of Singrauli has taken place but now time has come to make co-ordinated efforts to take Singrauli on new path of development. Under it, all those associated with this drive has to launch this drive as public drive for 100 days and work as mission.

The Union Minister opined that Central and State Governments are launching many welfare schemes for people and it is responsibility of all the poor, needy, beneficiaries should be made aware about these schemes and help them in availing benefit of these schemes.
MoS Akbar further said that participation of women is must in the Transform Singrauli drive as complete development is not possible without active co-operation of women. He urged senior officers of district administration and industrial units for giving special stress on the poverty alleviation and development of tribal populated villages.
Addressing the gathering, Member of Parliament Riti Pathak said the Union Government’s Niti Ayog has demarcated Singrauli district as very backward and hence all related to the district should take this as challenge. All should work together and should bring it among developed district.

Local public representatives gave many suggestions for accelerating developmental work in district. Under ‘Transform Singrauli’ programme in 25 village panchayats of Singrauli district awareness programmes for health, education, institutional deliveries, anemia is being done and infrastructure development.The works undertaken by NCL in three months under this drivewas informed through power point presentation. Other industrial units NTPC, Reliance, Hindalco, Essar, JP also gave their presentations. On the occasion , CMD, NCL PK Sinha, members of Board of Directors of NCL, Collector, Singrauli Anurag Choudhary, MLA, Singrauli Ram Lallu Vaishya, MLA, Devsar Rajendra Mehsram, MLA, Chitrangi Saraswati Singh, Mayor, Singrauli Premwati Khairwair, senior NCL officers and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. It may be mentioned that Niti Ayog has prepared list of 115 very backward districts on the basis of various norms of development.

Central government has launched ‘Aspirational Districts’ drive for speedy and all round development of all such district. Under this drive, district administration along with industrial units has started Transform Singrauli drive.
Union Minister MJ Akbar has been entrusted responsibility by Central government for reviewing this drive at Singrauli. Hence he visited Singrauli for monitoring of this drive.
