Monika Panpaliya, Senior Director of Boeing said, “India is big market for Boeing outside US.” She was speaking on a topic-- Bringing the best of India to Boeing-- at TiEcon 2018 on Sunday. She said, in Nagpur, Boeing had handed over MRO project to Air India. Boeing and TAL Manufacturing Solutions (TAL), had signed a new contract for TAL’s continued manufacturing of the Advanced Composite Floor Beam (ACFB) for Boeing's 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliner airplanes.


The collaboration between Boeing and several Tata Group companies on various aerospace and defence programmes in India will drive synergies and create future opportunities for both companies in manufacturing and innovation. Boeing and various Tata Group companies have established partnerships in India to manufacture aerostructures for Boeing’s commercial and military aircraft. Tata Boeing Aerospace has state-of-the-art Apache fuselage facility in Hyderabad.


For India, she said, Boeing has various plans. “Boeing needs close to 72,000 technicians in India. We only have 4,000 now. There is huge potential for people in India to fulfill our demand. We need to exploit potential of Aerospace Engineering,” she said. Panpaliya said, India has good Aviation Ministry. More than 50 airports and some helipads are being constructed in India. “We want to sell 2001 aircraft. India is third civil aviation market. Boeing expects lot from India,” she added.
