Corporator Joshi seeks to ban immersion of ashes and bones into Shivnath river

lifeline of Durg-Bhilai Shivnath river is getting polluted day by day. People are now immersing even bones into the river apart from immersion of Poojan materials. Corporator Prakash Joshi submitted an application in Collector Jandarshan demanding to impose ban on this practice to check pollution of river water. Residents of village Albaras complained that they constructed toilets in homes under Swachhat Bharat Mission by spending own money. Even after two years second installment for construction of toilet has not been paid while in other villages the payment has already been made.


Santosh Das and others of Pragatisheel Engineering Shramik Sangh demanded compliance of labour laws in Rana Udyog. They stated that in Industrial Area Bhilai, labourers are working since 30 years but they are not getting attendance card, wage ship, PF slip, ESI, cycle allowance and quarter allowance. The labourers demanded transfer of former Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Durg, Sanjay Singh. Devbaloda Urla ward number 31 Corporator Ramkumar Suryavanshi reached Jandarshan along with residents of ward. 100 ration card holders from Urla ward said that they had to travel to Devbaloda which is 3 km away for purchasing ration. Government has launched Core PDS scheme in which the card holder can purchase ration from any ration shop.
But labourers state that ration shop owner do not give all the items of ration and thaey have to go to Devbaloda ration shop for Sugar, Salt and Kerosene.
