Chhattisgarh has a unique standing in the country as far as the implementation of various Central and State Government schemes is concerned. The State has emerged at the top of the nationwide Gram Swaraj Abhiyan with best implementation of the Prime Minister’s flagship schemes. Though a new State, Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has taken long strides in development. In the past more than 14 years when Dr. Singh has been in power, the State saw myriads of development works taking place. Under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in village Jaangla in Bijapur, implementation of various schemes was exemplary. Chhattisgarh completed cent percent target in majority of schemes. Many of the flagship schemes of the Modi Government were started from Chhattisgarh and this shows the trust of the Central Government in the Chhattisgarh Government. Other states can take a cue from Chhattisgarh in this regard.

AMITABH IS RIGHT

MEGA star Amitabh Bachchan has very rightly said that the Swachha Bharat mission will become successful only when everyone does his bit and has stressed the need for youths to join the movement. Soon after taking over as Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had laid great emphasis on Swachha Bharat Abhiyan and advocated the need for end of open defecation all over the country. For that he launched a special mission for whose promotion iconic figures like Mr. Amitabh Bachchan were roped in as ambassadors of the cause of cleanliness. But when Amitabh says that everyone should do his bit that shows lack of enthusiasm, awareness and participation of the masses as a mass movement in this essentially public cause. Unless the people feel it is their own cause, that the Prime Minister, various other leaders and iconic figures like Mr. Bachchan are espousing, the mission would not yield desired results. In that case the call for end of open defecation would go unheeded with perpetuation of old unhygienic habits.
