MLA Jatav’s visit exposes grim reality of dam work at Aalod

A dam is being constructed by Water Resources Department at village Aalod in constituency area of Gotegaon. The department has acquired 90 acres of land from farmers and Forest Department for its construction. The dam construction work has being with estimated cost of Rs. 13 crore. But villagers had complained that bad quality construction work is under way and they are worried if in such a way dam would be constructed that in future problem may arise. It may be mentioned that with the construction of this dam, water crisis of number of surrounding village would be resolved, wild animals will get drinking water but bad quality construction work is the matter of great concerned.


The construction company is not following any norms of quality maintenance in construction of this dam. Villagers have fear that in near future after this dam constructed with bad quality construction work, village Aalod will submerge if it breaks. The gravel and sand being using in dam construction is mixed with mud. When villagers interrupted to contractor. He fought with them in abusive language. Villagers then complained to MLA Dr Kailash Jatav. He took time and visited the dam construction spot. He found that bad quality construction work is going on.


MLA Dr Jatav himself dug-out the gravel hillock and found it mixed with mud. The officers of concerned department said that whenever they come for inspection they contractor fled away and whatever instruction given for maintaining quality he is not following it. SDO of Water Resources Department, Rahul Gupta information that the dam is being constructing by agency of Gwalior contractor Kailash Agrawal with estimated cost of Rs. 2.95 crore.
