‘Vikas Yatra aims to apprise people of devpt works’

“MAIN aim of organising Assembly-wise Vikas Yatra is to apprise people of development and construction works and also achievements under various schemes in areas concerned,” said State Forest, Planning, Economics and Statistics Minister Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar on Friday. He performed bhoomipujan of several development works and also dedicated some newly constructed works under Vikas Yatra in North Central Assembly on Friday. The District Incharge Minister also inspected on-going beautification of Ranital pond, Sneh Nagar link road, construction of Government School near Ranital Square etc.

Minister of State Sharad Jain, Mayor Dr Swati Godbole and other party leaders were also present on the occasion. He further said Vikas Yatra will be organised in all assemblies. During the Yatra, people’s feedback regarding Government schemes and programmes will also be taken, he added.

BHOOMIPUJAN OF BOUNDARY WALL: State Forest Minister Dr Shejwar performed bhoomipujan of boundary wall of park in Rameshwarm Colony. Minister of State and MLA Sharad Jain approved Rs 7 lakh for construction work. Corporator Sushma Patel, Ranjeet Thakur, Vivek Choudhary, Anand Mishra, Anubha Rai and others were present on the occasion.

BHOOMIPUJAN OF PARKS: The District Incharge Minister dedicated to public newly constructed CC road with a cost of Rs 26 lakh in Jagdamba Colony. He also performed bhoomipujan for Chandrashekhar Park in Agrasen Ward and Shivnagar Park in Jaiprakash Ward. The civic body will spend Rs 1.53 crore and Rs 1.18 crore over construction of the parks.

BHOOMIPUJAN OF SCHOOL BUILDING: The State Minister on first day of Vikas Yatra also performed bhoomipujan of High School Building worth Rs 1.18 crore in Tamarhai. Minister of State Sharad Jain and Mayor Dr Swati Godbole was also present on the occasion.

PUBLIC DEDICATION OF BUILDING AT HOME SCIENCE COLLEGE: Dr Shejwar dedicated to the public newly constructed Tourism, Traveling and Catering Department building and Home Science College.  Speaking on the occasion, he said tourism sector has immense job opportunities. He said degree and diploma course in tourism, travelling and catering will start in the college from next academic session. He informed that the Government has already permitted the college to start the courses.

INSPECTION OF SCHOOL BUILDING: Dr Shejwar inspected under-construction building of Subhash Nagar Middle School near Ranital Square. The building has been constructed with a cost of Rs 1.95 crore. He praised quality of construction work and directed to build a boundary wall of the school.

INSPECTION OF RANITAL POND: The State Minister also inspected ongoing development and beautification works of Ranital pond. On the occasion, officials concerned informed the State Minister that a sewage treatment plant will be installed to treat drain water released into the pond. They informed that a jogging track, path way and childrenpark is proposed at the site. The development works will be done under Smart City Project.

INSPECTION OF LINK ROAD: Minister Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar also inspected newly constructed Sneh Nagar Link Road. Jabalpur Municipal Corporation has recently constructed a road with a cost of Rs 2.60 lakh.

VISITED SMART CITY OFFICE: Dr Shejwar also visited Jabalpur Smart City Office. Minister of State, Sharad Jain and Mayor Dr Swati Godbole apprised the State Minister of works being done under the Smart City Project. Dr Shejwar praised efforts being made to provide better facilities to citizens. He also acknowledged efforts being made for cleanliness. He also inspected Multi Level Car Parking.
