BJP’s Vikas Yatra from today

Asserting that opposing the Vikas Yatra, amounts to opposition of 2.5 crore people of Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said Congress has always negated development. Addressing the media persons at a press conference on Friday, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said the Congress had negated development ahead of 2003 and today also it is negating development. He said between 2003 and 2018, extensive changes have taken place in Chhattisgarh. He said the number of districts increased to 27 from 16 and if anyone asks the people from Sukma or Balrampur, what difference it has made, they will explain it. There was a time if people from far flung areas had any work in district head-quarters, they had to travel long distances for getting their work done. Now with the constitution of new tehsils and new districts, these works can be accomplished easily without any hassles.

The Chief Minister urged the opposition Congress to oppose him as much as it can but it shouldn’t oppose developments because its people’s developments and not of any party or person in particular. He said negating development is like terminating people’s aspirations. Addressing the media persons on the forthcoming Vikas Yatra, commencing from Saturday, the Chief Minister said this is Yatra of people’s love and affection. The Yatra is being taken out to extend them gratitude and seek their blessings. The first three years soon after the inception of the state, people have subjected to misrule by the erstwhile Congress government.

In 2003, the BJP had taken out Parivartan Yatra, and the people who were then looking for a change, grabbed the opportunity and voted for BJP. Since than the BJP led government is working to the expectations of people and is in power since last 15 years.  Thereafter Vikas Yatras were taken out in 2008 and 2013 from Dantewada after paying obeisance to Maa Danteshwari and this time is no different. He said Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be inaugurating the Vikas Yatra. He said during yatras in 2003, 2008 and 2013 the Union Home Minister had played significant role and this time also he will be participating in the Yatra.

The Chief Minister said during this Vikas Yatra, the first phase will commence from May 12 and culminate on June 11. During the Yatra, he will be visiting 62 Assembly segment, there will be welcome functions at 38 places, welcome meetings at 39 places, public meetings at 53 places, mega road shows at 16 places and he will retire for the night in 21 places. He said during the Vikas Yatra, he will get the opportunity to directly interact with 2.5 crore people.

The Chief Minister said during the Vikas Yatra, dedication and foundation stone laying of development works worth Rs 29,500 crore will be carried. The development works includes dedication and laying of foundation for roads and buildings worth Rs 23,000 crore. Laying of foundation or dedication of development works worth Rs 2000 crore under Energy department, Rs 2500  crore works under Bharat Net Project, Rs 1461.92 crore works under Chhattisgarh State Water Resources Department, Rs 427.34 crore worth works for PHE department, Rs 73.28 crore worth works for SC/ST Welfare, Rs 40.64 crore worth works from Social Welfare department and Rs 4.19 crore worth works from Ware Housing Corporation Rs 4.19 crore will be carried out during the Yatra.

The Chief Minister further informed that during the Yatra, distribution of beneficiary oriented materials will also becarried out. Accordingly, smart phones will be distributedamong 50 lakh families under SKY scheme worth Rs 1200 crore. Bonus worth Rs 1700 crore against paddy procurement will be distributed aming 12 lakh farmers. Tendu-patta bonus worth Rs 700 crore will be distributed among 12.5 lakh tendu-patta collectors. Residential land lease will be distributed among 12.6 lakh families. The state government will be distributing Rs 1500 per acre as support amount to chana growing farmers, which would benefit chana growing farmers. Under the Ujjawala scheme, LPG connections will be distributed among 12 lakh farmers. Also materials worth Rs 250 crore would be distributed among 5.6 lakh workers under various schemes.

The Chief Minister further informed that the Vikas Yatra will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He said in-between the Vikas Yatra, Union Ministers like Nitin Gadkari, Narendra Singh Tomar, Thawarchand Gehlot, Smriti Irani, Jual Oraon, Dharmendra Pradhan and senior central party leaders as well as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, etc will be attending.
