RPF nabs 10 men for stealing rail line

101 metric tonnes of stolen railway line seized from accused 

RAILWAY Protection Force (RPF) succeeded in apprehending 10 of 12 accused involved in stealing rail line and seized 101 metric tonnes of stolen rail line from them, while a rigorous search for two other accused is underway. Two of the arrested men, including mastermind of incident, are on 15-day judicial remand for revealing more information about other theft incidents. On December 18, 2017, RPF had registered a case of stealing 101 metric tonnes of rail line worth Rs 24.65 lakh between Bakhleta-Sallaiyya railway stations. Inspector General of Railway Police Rajendra Kumar Malik constituted a team for early apprehension of accused and recovery of stolen property of railway. Acting promptly on the direction, RPF Katni team led by Inspector Dinesh Singh Soy succeeded in apprehending 10 of the 12 accused and recovered entire stolen stock of railway lines from them.

SHO of RPF Post Katni Dinesh Singh Soy informed that police have succeeded in apprehending 10 accused including mastermind of case named Haji Mohammed Shamim, son of Mohammed Bashir, a resident of Anand Nagar, Adhartal (Jabalpur) along with other accused named Jitendra Kumar Rai alias Jittu (22), son of Sharda Prasad Rai, resident of Damoh district, Kaji Mehtab Uddin alias Bittu Kaji (27), son of Kaji Khan Bahadur of Sagar district, Bharat Gangwani (23), son of Amrut Lal Gangwani of Sagar district, Shekh Mehboob (60), son of Mohammed Yusuf of Jabalpur district, Shashank alias Monu Jain (29), son of Jawaharlal Jain of Sagar district, Sawan Shrivastava (35), son of Surendra Nath Shrivastava of Ranjhi in Jabalpur, Shailendra Singh Rajput (35), son of D S Rajput of Shastri Nagar, Jabalpur, Jayendra Singh (32), son of Rana Pratap Singh of Ranjhi, Jabalpur and Abrar Ali alias Guddu (38), son of Shakir Ali of Gairatganj, Raisen. RPF have obtained 15-days judicial remand of Haji Mohammed Shamim and Abrar Ali till May 17 for further investigations into the case and a search is underway for two more accused.
