After paying obeisance to Maa Danteshwari, the ‘Vikas Yatra-2018’ led by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh was flagged off by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh from Dantewada on Saturday.

Addressing a strong gathering of over 20,000 people including party workers and office-bearers of Bharatiya Janata Party, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that through this ‘Vikas Yatra’, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh will establish direct interaction with the people all over the state and appraise the people about the development works done by him during his tenure as Chief Minister. Also during interaction with the people he will appraise himself with the problems faced by people and they will be resolved.

He said during this Yatra, he is likely o encounter scorching heat and storms, there will be Nava-Tapa,despite which people from different walks of life actively participate in the ‘Vikas Yatra’.

Coming down heavily on the opposition Congress, the Chief Minister said that Congress got opportunity to rule this country for 50 years and during their tenure the Congress never gave food grains at Re 1 per kilo and nor have given Rs 100 as medical assistance. Today AICC Chhattisgarh In-charge P L Punia along with CPCC President Bhupesh Baghel and other Congress leaders have launched ‘Vikas Khojo Abhiyan’ from Rajnandgaon district. Dr Singh said, “Why Punia or Baghel, the Congress should invite AICC President Rahul Gandhi to Rajnandgaon and make him go round to see the development there so that they can compare the Rajnandgaon of 15 years back and today’s Rajnandgaon.” The Chief Minister also challenged the AICC President to carry out the amount of development which had taken place in Rajnandgaon, in Amethi and Rae Bareli in next 20 years.”

The Chief Minister said the Congress always negates developments and that is the reason why they have been in the opposition since 15 years. He said if the Congress continues to negate development, they will be out of power for another 30 years. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said in 2003 they took out ‘Parivartan Yatra’ and BJP government was formed thereby opening up road to development. Now Vikas Yatras is being taken out to highlight the developments which had taken place in the state. Chief Minister said in 2003 there was fear among people and they were reluctant to come out from the safety of their houses. But at that time Rajnath Singh who was State BJP In charge encouraged the people to participate in ‘Parivartan Yatra’, which led to formation of BJP government.

Dr Singh said that during Congress tenure, not a single Union Minister, forget about the Prime Minister, visited areas like Bijapur, Dantewada, etc. but today Prime Minister Narendra Modi is launching central schemes from Bijapur. Today there is one of the best education hub prevailing in Dantewada where thousands of tribal children are studying. The Chief Minister took the opportunity to announce that within next two months 55 lakh smart phones will be distributed among the people. Also those people who have not been included under Ujjawala scheme, they will also get LPG connections free of cost.

Today every part of Chhattisgarh is well connected through good roads. Unless the development of poor and tribal take place, the state or country cannot be termed as developed and in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has generated massive opportunities for the development of the downtrodden.

The Union Home Minister while praising the schemes like PM Crop Insurance, PM Life and General Insurance, Ujjawala Schemes, Saubhagya Schemes, Ayushman Yojna, etc launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Chhattisgarh has been numero uno state in the country to effectively implement these schemes. He asked the Congress to carry out retrospection of the works done by them during their tenure.
