Director Nagarkar inaugurates various new facilities at AIIMS

Final testing of modern digital subtraction angiography (DSA), Cath Lab facility was done in presence of Director, Nitin Nagarkar at AIIMS on Saturday. After testing, Nagarkar said it is one of the modern facilities in central India.


Apart from this, Nagarkar also inaugurated dialysis facility and said that now, kidney patients could also be treated in AIIMS. Along with this, he also inaugurated ward of Ophthalmology Department. This ward is having 20 bed facility where eye patients would seek treatment to their eye related problems. With this, now the bed strength of AIIMS has increased to 443. In coming months, there is plan to increase bed facility to 960 beds.


On this occasion, Nagarkar informed that facilities at AIIMS are being expanded at fast pace. He also informed that newly constructed nursing college building, assembly hall of 1,000 sitting arrangement and night shelter homes for relatives of patients are also ready and shortly, they will be dedicated.


Apart from this, nursing students of AIIMS celebrated ‘International Nurses Day’. This programme was also inaugurated by Nagarkar. He told that there is no big service then serving patients. He prayed for the bright future of nursing students. On this occasion, Dean (Academics) Professor Rajesh Malik, Deputy Director (Administration) Santosh Shougara, Medical Superintendent Professor Manisha Shrivastava, Principal Nursing College Professor Mala Goswami, Associate Professor Mamta Verma, Professor S Balakrishnan, Superintendent Engineer S B Pandey, etc. were also present.
