BJP heavyweights review Bhandara-Gondia LS by-poll and Council poll preparations with MLAs, ZP members, corporators

Every elected representative to campaign in these constituencies at least for four days

Mungantiwar to co-ordinate Council poll

Giving a clarion call to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers not to leave any stone unturned to ensure victory in ensuing Bhandara- Gondia Lok Sabha by-election and Wardha-Bhandara- Gadchiroli Council election, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari on Sunday appealed to party cadres to give a befitting reply to opposition parties. Every elected representative from neighbouring district has been asked to spend at least four days in Bhandara-Gondia and also Wardha-Chandrapur.

Addressing a review meeting on Sunday morning, the BJP top brass reminded everybody that every election is important and in both the seats, the party has fielded loyal, grass root workers and it is bounden duty of every BJP worker to make them victorious. Taking cue from setbacks in recent by-polls, the party is not taking any chances. This is second meeting of leadership with elected representatives in which tasks have been finalised for everyone, without exception.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir and Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar jointly reviewed preparations for Bhandara-Gondia Lok Sabha by-election and Wardha- Bhandara-Gadchiroli Council election at Hotel Centre Point. The Lok Sabha by-election is prestigious for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as its Member of Parliament Nana Patole had resigned from the seat and quit the party.

Zilla Parishad members, Municipal Corporation members along with MLAs and MLCs were present in the meeting.
BJP has given ticket to Hemant Patle while Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has fielded Madhukar Kukde for Lok Sabha polls. So far, Shiv Sena has not opened up its cards and has not declared its support to either BJP or NCP in the elections.

BJP is ahead in the micro-level planning of the election as this election is prestigious for the party leaders. Chief Minister is himself monitoring the election on regular basis. The party has deployed all the prominent Ministers and party leaders to address the election rally. The ruling party is making every effort to defeat NCP in May 28 by-poll.

NCP has also made it a prestige point as senior leader Praful Patel has fielded Madhukar Kukde, former BJP MLA from Tumsar. Kukde has strong hold in Bhandara district. Patel has also made this election prestigious for himself. Former BJP MP Nana Patole, who left the party after dispute with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is also addressing rallies at Taluka places and visiting every village to garner support in favour of NCP candidate. Sources claimed that Fadnavis and Gadkari directed all the corporators and Legislators to give their 100 percent to win the election.

The top-leaders also reviewed the council poll of Wardha-Gadchiroli-Chandrapur in the meeting. The party has given ticket to Dr. Ramdas Ambatkar, State BJP General Secretary and prominent functionary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In last election, the party had given ticket to Mitesh Bhangadia but this time party changed the candidate and preferred an old-timer with clean slate. Congress has fielded Indrakumar Saraf, a man with deep pockets, from this council seat. BJP has around 500 votes out of total 1056 voters in the election. The council member will be elected from the votes of elected members of local bodies. Minister of State for Tribal Welfare Ambrish Atram, MP Ramdas Tadas, Ashok Nete, and all the MLAs, MLCs were present in the meeting.
The party has given responsibility of the election to Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.
