Major fire in edible oil godown

A major fire in edible oils godown that contained refined oil ‘Dhara’ brand and also ‘dalda’ reduced the stocks into ashes, at Rawabhata in the limits of Khamtarai police station on Sunday. The loss in monetary figures could not be known from the police till evening as investigations were in progress and it was being calculated. There was no injury and loss of any human life, the police informed. The godown was of Mother Dairy Food Vegetarian Refined Pvt Ltd, containing refined oil of ‘Dhara’ brand and also ‘dalda. The fire broke out at about 5 am and took a wild turn in a big way. Police and fire brigade team rushed to the spot, but the oily substances contained in the godown were friendly to the fire, making its flames take bigger and bigger shape.


It came to notice that the two-storey godown fell into ruins amidst the flames. Huge smoke billowed in cloud like shape and lent an awful scene. Khamtarai police informed that in course of investigation it was known two persons responsible for taking care of the godown are Narendra Sharma and Prakash Jain. More than half-a dozen fire tenders had to be pressed into service to control the fire and finally the fire that broke out at 5 am was controlled at 3 am. Investigations were in progress.
