College students to conduct 100 hrs of cleanliness awareness campaign under Swachh Bharat Summer Internship

Students selected from various colleges in the district will work 100 hours for Cleanliness Awareness Campaign under Swachh Bharat Summer Internship. This campaign will be run in 67 Gram Panchayats till July 31, 2018. Students will work 100 hours under the campaign to create awareness for cleanliness.Principals of colleges were briefed in detail about the campaign in Collectorate auditorium today. Collector Umesh Agrawal said under Swachh Bharat Mission Rural, 500 selected students will work 100 hours in Gram Panchayat to make cleanliness a permanent concept in villages under Swachh Bharat Mission. They will work according to the Mission’s guideline.

Colleges will be provided the list of 67 Gram Panchayats in the district which include Antyodaya, ideal villages of MP and MLAs for selecting villages. He appealed to college staff also to participate in this noble deed. Agendawise online registration of youth/students on website, number of NSS/NCC teams and number of participating students, selection of Gram Panchayats for 100 hour work, Gram Panchayats where work has already commenced. Prior to selection, fixation of number of students in each team and training to participants by concerned colleges, loading of students in Gram Panchayats and security arrangements and information of marked Gram Panchayats for solid and liquid waste management was discussed.

Prizes to be awarded for excellent work in cleanliness activities organised through Nehru Youth Centre and colleges were also discussed. Jila Panchayat CEO Gourav Singh, gave detail information about cleanliness based activities under the campaign and solid and liquid waste management related activities. Institutional heads were insisted to be present with detail action plan in the workshop to be organised on next Monday.
