Highway robbers’ gang busted, three arrested

Bilkhiriya police have nabbed three miscreants involved in looting two truck drivers of Rs 25,000 at Jhagaria Ghati in the night on May 11. Weapons, including axe, wooden sticks, used in the robbery were also recovered by the police from their possession.Police said that during the search by the teams formed the three were nabbed near the area where they have committed the crime. The three were identified as Rajesh Ahirwar (25), Pradeep Ahirwar (20) and Shahrukh Khan(19), all resident of Peeriya Mohalla in Bilkhiriya.


On the day of the incident at around 11.45 pm the truck bearing registration number MP-04 HE 3738 was stopped by the accused and the two victims Heeralal Shakya (23) of Salamatpur in Raisen and Babulal Malviya (47) of Indira Nagar at Jatkhedi were assaulted and robbed by the three miscreants and escaped with documents and Rs 25,000 cash. The two managed to reach police station and lodged a complaint of the robbery. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police registered a case under Section 394 of the IPC and started investigation. During the investigation acting on a tip the accused were tracked near Jhagaria and police suspects that they were on their way to commit robbery.The police have recovered sharp-edged weapon, wooden sticks, documents and cash in the investigation. All the arrested accused would be quizzed at length to ascertain their involvement in similar incidents of highway robberies in the past.
