Giving a message of ‘Connecting Bastar’, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that his government is committed towards building a vast network of rail, road, air as well as phone and internet connectivity across Bastar.Addressing mediapersons during a press conference before proceeding for his visits in Kondagaon, Narayanpur and Kanker districts, on the third day of statewide Vikas Yatra, the Chief Minister said that very soon the optical fibre cable network will be laid coupled with the erection of mobile towers in the entire Bastar region for providing pan Bastar mobile and internet network. The road network has already been enhanced with roads connecting far-flung LWE infected areas like Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Narainpur, etc. So far as rail connectivity is concerned rail-tracks have reached Bhanupratappur and in next few years will reach Jagdalpur as work is already in progress. He said that the distribution of 55 lakh smart phones will be initiated very soon, for which the state government will ensure proper and quality connectivity in both urban and rural areas.

Answering a query on adverse comments coming up due to delay in the merger of Shikshakarmi, the Chief Minister said that presently they are on agitation spree, hence comments from various sectors will continue to flow, however, the solution will be positive. Since they are in agitation, comments will come, no problem. However talks are underway alongside study of various options by the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary. ‘I hope, the solution will be positive’, while adding that he had earlier also stated that the State Government will take a positive approach towards their demands.Coming down heavily on the Congress, the Chief Minister said that the Congress is in such a mess that they don’t have even a single leader in Chhattisgarh capable of holding a road-show. It is pity that the Congress is facing dearth of leadership in Chhattisgarh and they have to rely on AICC President for carrying out road-show. Neither the AICC Chhattisgarh In charge P L Puniya nor the CPCC President Bhupesh Baghel are being accepted by the people. Commenting on the ‘Vikas Khojo Yatra’ by Congress, the Dr Singh said that this it is not opposition but desperation of theCongress. The truth is that the Congress is limited to social media war and is active in twitter, facebook and press conferences.

Commenting on the statement made by Congress Working President Ramdayal Uike, the Chief Minister said that it is not worthy of any comments, when the people will read his statements, they will understand themselves. On Congress leader Kawasi Lakhma posing challenge to Chief Minister to visit Tademetla, Jagargunda under Vikas Yatra, the Chief Minister said the Yatra has just started and he will visit the Bastar region thrice in different phases. He said, if Lakhma wants me to visit some places in Bastar, he should forward me a list of such places, he’ll try to cover them. He added that as the Vikas Yatra is progressing with high acceptability and great response from the people, the opposition bench is coming under depression.

During the first two days of Vikas Yatra which was initiated after seeking blessings from Maa Danteshwari from Dantewada, the chief minster visited Bade Kilepal, Tokapal, Jagdalpur. On the second day visits were made to Gadiraas, a far flung area within Sukma district and was overwhelmed by the sight of gathering there. He said he had been to Gadiraas earlier also but in his long political career, such overwhelming sight was rare. From there the Yatra proceeded to Jagdalpur, Bhanpuri, etc. In Kondagaon, also there was overwhelming sight where people, in fact the whole city came out to welcome the Vikas Yatra. It seems people were celebrating Diwali, Holi, etc. The shining in the eyes of people shows how much they were satisfied from the development which had taken place after Kondagaon was upgraded to a district.

In Kondagaon alone dedication and laying of foundation stone for development works worth Rs 283 crore had taken place including Rs dedication of development works worth Rs 70 crore and foundation laid for development works worth Rs 213 crore which included dedication of 100 bedded hospital, livelihood college, etc, stated the Chief Minister.
