Lokayukta crackdown on corrupt officials

SLEUTHS of Lokayukta Police special establishment, Jabalpur, caught a Sub-Engineer of Janpad Panchayat Bicchua while taking bribe of Rs 30,000 for valuation of construction work of Anganwadi Centre building from a private contractor on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Dinesh Johare, posted as Sub-Engineer in Janpad Panchayat Bicchua. Officers nabbed the accused when he was taking bribe of Rs 30,000 from a complainant named Sukhram Nore, a resident of Bicchua village in Chhindwara.


Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, Dilip Jharbade informed that they received a complaint from a man named Sukhram Nore that he works as a private contractor. He recently completed construction of a building of Anganwadi Centre. He contacted the Sub-Engineer of Janpad Panchayat Bicchua several times for valuation of construction work for bills to release his payment. Sub-Engineer of Janpad Panchayat demanded bribe of Rs 30,000 for valuation of construction work. Acting on the complaint, a teamof Lokayukta police reached office of Janpad Panchayat Bicchua and arrested officer of Government department red-handed when he was taking Rs 30,000 bribe from the appellant. Lokayukta police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, while further investigations are underway. During the trap, Lokayukta police team comprised DSP Dilip Jharwade, Inspector Swapnil Das, constables Atul Shrivastava and Juber Khan.
