MPPGCL to hike capacity by year end

Increasing its contribution to the State power sector, Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) will increase its capacity by 1,320 MW by the year end. The company has already synchronised first unit of Singhaji Thermal Power Station, Khandwa Phase – II and second unit is targetted to be synchronised in July 2018. The company has set target of starting commercial operation from these two units of 660 MW each by the year end.

MPPGCL has established two units of 660 MW each with super critical technique at Singhaji Thermal Power Station, Khandwa in association with L&T on EPC basis. First unit of 660 MW was synchronised in April 2018 and its commercial operation is projected to start in July 2018. Second unit of 660 MW will be synchronised in July 2018 and its commercial operation will be started in November 2018.Under the direction of Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and Government of Madhya Pradesh, MPPGCL has presented its preliminary report for replacing old units of Amarkantak Thermal Power Station 1 and 2 and Satpura Thermal Power Station’s Unit 1, 2 and 3 with the establishment of new super critical technique units for further approval from competent authorities.Besides this, the company has prepared a project for installation of solar panels at probable places of its thermal power station and hydel power stations for better utilisation of vacant space and increasing green energy production in the State.
