Megha Parmar becomes State’s first girl to climb Mount Everest

It is a matter of immense pride that a girl from Madhya Pradesh, Megha Parmar has scaled new heights and brought laurels to the State and the country. Twenty-four-year-old Megha has become the first woman from Madhya Pradesh to successfully climb Mount Everest. Megha Parmar, a student of Rabindranath Tagore University, is an experienced mountaineer and hails from Bhojnagar village in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh. She is pursuing MSc (Yoga) from Rabindranath Tagore University. She had hoisted the Indian national flag on the Himalayan Mountain range Devi Tibba last year.

Megha has actively participated in save environment, woman empowerment, water conservation, de-addiction programme through NSS. At present, she has climbed 23,000 ft altitude at camp-3. Rabindranath Tagore University Chancellor Santosh Choubey, Vice Chancellor Professor A K Gwal and Registrar Dr Vijay Singh have congratulated Megha and extended best wishes for future endeavours.
