Kamal Nath assumes charge as MP Cong President

NEWLY-APPOINTED State Congress President Kamal Nath assumed charge on Tuesday evening. He took charge in presence of senior party leaders, including Digvijay Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Deepak Babaria. Kamal Nath stressed that first task of him is to strengthen the party at grassroots level to uproot the BJP regime in State. Earlier, Kamal Nath received a rousing welcome on his arrival in Bhopal. He reached party headquarters from airport by embarking on an open truck. Along with Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Working President Balabachan, former Union Minister Suresh Pachauri etc were also standing on the open truck.

Nath’s rally received warm welcome everywhere on way to party office. Congress workers jostled with each other to garland him and waive a hand to him. A public assembly was held outside the Congress office when Kamal Nath rally reached there. Digvijay Singh took on BJP by telling that ruling party often accuses Congress of being a divided party.

Pointing out towards the gathering of all Congress senior leaders on the dais, Digvijay Singh said “If you see towards dais then where is Congress divided.” Praising the leadership skills of newly-appointed State chief, Digvijay Singh told that Kamal Nath is having ability to walk ahead along with all leaders. Coming on candidate selection process, he told that whoever is having the party symbol will be the party candidate. He also suggested for stern action against those Congress leaders who try to create trouble for party during elections. Jyotiraditya Scindia also made a blistering attack on State Government.


He told that vast experienced Kamal Nath is actually glorifying the chair of PCC President and in his leadership, Congress will uproot BJP regime. He assured Congress workers that wherever their sweat will fall, blood of leaders will fall down at the same place. When he came to speak, Congress workers got charged and started shouting slogans in his favour. He took on BJP government by alleging that women are not safe in the State and youths are not getting respect and are unemployed. He also indirectly spoke on Kathua gang rape incident and said that how a BJP minister had mocked the incident. Moreover, he took jibe at Modi government by saying that it is the government of ‘doodh, paan and pakoda’. Later, Kamal Nath addressed a press conference in which he accused BJP of bringing religion into the politics and claimed that Congress would never do so. He also wanted to know that whether BJP had taken the contract of religion.
