BENGALURU,

FEAR of ‘Operation Kamal’ by Bharatiya Janata Party appears to haunt the Congress as its party MLAs are confined to hotel rooms even after a week after the verdict of the May 12 Assembly polls was out.

Sources said that Congress had continued to keep its newly elected Legislators in the hotels since the BJP might continue its attempt to lure them and disturb swearing in of JDS State President H D Kumaraswamy as Chief Minister on Wednesday. Some of the Congress Legislators, who were confined to hotel rooms, have taken strong exception to their leaders decision to keep them in hotel rooms alleging that “our party leaders who have taken the lead in formation of Coalition Government with JDS, seems to have no confidence in us despite we followed their direction and moved from one place to other, one hotel to other frequently.

It is one week since we saw our family and visited our constituency to thank the people. Sources said that some of the disappointed MLAs expressed their anguish over confinement in front of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress leader D K Shivakumar when they visited the hotel on Tuesday morning.

However, Shivakumar pacified them saying that BJP cannot be taken for granted and for their safety and in the interests of the party and people, they have to remain in hotel rooms till swearing in ceremony scheduled at 4.30 pm on Wednesday. CM designate Kumaraswamy, accompanied by his father and former Prime Minister H D Devegowda on Tuesday visited Sringeri Sharadamba Peeta and performed ‘Yaga’ (Special pooja) for the success of swearing in.
