‘India First’ is our motto: Modi on Govt’s fourth anniversary

RECALLING the refrain “India First” as the motto, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted various developmental initiatives at the completion of four years in office Prime Minister who headed a people-oriented Government.


Even as his Government worked tirelessly for people, the Opposition leaders were coming together in order to save themselves from political extinction, the Prime Minister said at a massive rally in celebration of the fourth anniversary of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the leading component. While his assertion of “India First” came on a tweet, his comment about the frightened Opposition came at Cuttack in Odisha.


“On this day in 2014, we began our journey of working towards India’s transformation,” he wrote on Twitter.

Modi also appreciated his Government for taking people-friendly decisions “With the best intent and complete integrity, we have taken futuristic and people-friendly decisions that are laying the foundations of a new India. ‘Saaf Niyat Sahi Vikas’ (clean intention, perfect that the Government was gaining confidence of people. At a celebratory rally in Cuttak, Prime Minister attacked the opposition unity, saying the corrupt leaders were coming together “not to save the country but to save themselves”, making an apparent attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi.


“Due to the commitment of this government against the black money and corruption, people those who are out on bail in the Rs 5,000 corruption case and many others also involved in corruption cases have come together on the same platform,” Modi said while addressing a rally here on the occasion of four years of completion of his Government. He was apparently referring to the Gandhis taking bail in the ‘National Herald’ case and Opposition leaders coming together in Bengaluru during the Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy’s swearing-in.
