Forgery case may be big inter-state racket

The arrest of two men involved in making of fake mark-sheets and certificates of Government departments may bust a big inter-state forgery racket. The accused have confessed to supplying more than 200 fake mark-sheets and certificates and most of the documents were supplied in different districts of Uttar Pradesh. The case is sensitive as the fake documents may have been used for appointment in Government departments and anti-national activities as well.It may be noted that Cantt police nabbed the two men named Atul Maseeh (32), son of Ajay Maseeh, resident of Issai Mohalla in Gorakhpur and Shareef alias Faheem (27), son of Mohammed Idris, resident of Gully Number – 10 in Sadar and seized fake seals of different Government departments and several fake certificates of birth, mark-sheets, Aadhaar cards, domicile certificate, computer system and other devices used for making fake documents from his residence.

CSP, Gorakhpur, Arjun Uikay informed that during the interrogation, the accused disclosed that, till now, they have supplied around 200 fake mark-sheets and certificates. Most of the certificates were supplied in Uttar Pradesh. It has been expected that the accused will disclose more information about supplying mark-sheets, certificates and other kinds of documents pertaining to different Government departments. CSP, Uikay said that police will definitely obtain importantinformation from the accused in coming days of remand while police will also scan the hard disk of computer seized from residence of accused.
