Take students on educational tour once a week: MoS Arya

Minister of State for Scheduled Caste Welfare Lalsingh Arya said that students of the hostels should be taken on tour of one place in a week essentially. He mentioned that the children should be taken on a tour of nearby industrial area, medical or engineering college. Arya said this during the review of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department on Thursday. Principal Secretary Sanjay Bandopadhyaya and Commissioner Anand Sharma were present in the meeting.
Officers for best work honoured: MoS Lalsingh Arya honoured 5 officers of the department for their overall best work. Mohini Shrivastava of Indore, Shilpa Jain of Chhindwara, Shikha Soni of Damoh, Abhishek Singh of Satna and Harjeet Singh of Sehore were awarded with the citation letters.

Moreover, Arya stated that special attention should be paid on sanitation in the hostels. Adequate dust bins should be used. Apprise Collector, PHE Officer or Head of the department about the potable water status. Collector should be apprised about the status by reviewing the progress of construction works. Where there are CCTV cameras are installed in the hostels, they should be kept in working condition. TVs should be made available in all hostels at the earliest. While instructing the divisional officers to hold meetings of district officers from time to time, he said that we come across problems and suggestions by holding meetings.

Arya gave directives to use materials after its purchase for the hostels. Information about number of children and material should be made available at the head quarter. Purchase quality material as per the requirement and do not purchase material in advance. He told that meeting of the construction agencies should be convened next week. Moreover, Arya instructed that preparations should be made for laying foundation stone and dedication programmes during the Vikas Yatra, by completing the undergoing construction works. Along with this, the updated information about the construction works should be made available within 7 days.

23 students of Gyaoday selected in JEE: Twenty three out of 58 students belonging to scheduled caste community, pursuing studies in Government Gyanoday Schools have been selected in JEE Mains. The selected students include 6 from Bhopal, 3 each from Gwalior, Ujjain and Shahdol, 2 each from Hoshangabad, Sagar and Morena and one each from Indore and Jabalpur. Furthermore, Arya stated that all kind of tenders of the department should be called in the month of May. Use available funds in a planned manner. Return the unutilised amount so that requirements of other districts could be met and the budget could be saved from being lapsed. He also gave directives to decide the date for Praveshotsav (Celebrations for Admissions) in the hostels. He further mentioned that a meeting of admission committee should be called. Praveshotsav should be celebrated in presence of ministers by inviting parents.

Arya said that a list of students belonging to scheduled caste and tribe community, who secure 70 percent marks or above in class 10 and 12 examinations should be sent. A special programme will be organised in
presence of the Chief Minister, he added.
