4 injured as bus collides with oil tanker

A major disaster was averted on Sunday evening when a bus collided head-on with a oil tanker near Balpur village under Ghansaur police station. The bus was carrying only four passengers and they sustained minor injuries. The four injured passengers were admitted to Ghansaur hospital. Fortunately no damage was done to the tanker or else major disaster could have taken place.


According to information, the four passengers traveling a bus sustained minor injuries after the bus (MP 20 PA 0462) going to Ghansaur to Lakhnadaun collided with oil tanker coming from opposite direction. Soon after the mishap bus driver and his assistant managed to flee from the spot leaving the passengers in a state of panic.


Villagers reached the spot and informed police and Ambulance 108. The injured passengers were taken to Government Hospital Ghansaur.SI Ghansaur Bharadwaj informed that the bus was owned by Gohlani Travel and was on way to Ghansaur from Lakhnadaun and was carrying only four passengers. The oil tanker (RJ 14 0110_ collided head-on with the bus. The impact of collision could be gauged that the front portion (cabin) of the oil tanker was detached from the rest of the vehicle.


The driver of the oil tanker remained unhurt. “We have registered case under section 279, 337 of IPC against the absconding bus driver and his assistant. A search has been started to apprehend the absconding driver and his assistant.”
The four injured passengers were discharged on Monday morning. The bus has been seized by the police as further investigations are underway.
