Speaker distributes house certificates to 15 beneficiaries

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal distributed house certificates to 15 beneficiaries on the last of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan at village Dongridih of Baloda Bazaar Development Block on Monday.

The Certificates given to 8 beneficiaries of village Dongridih and 7 of village Korda allows them to avail loan up to Rs 1.50 lakh for home construction under ‘Mor Zameen, Mor Makaan’ scheme.

Speaker also gave away cheques worth Rs 1 lakh each to 9 self-help groups and nets to the fishermen.
In his speech, Gaurishankar Agrawal informed about Chief Minister’s decision to handover the operation of fair price shops to self-help groups’ members. These women are already running ration shops at some places.
He congratulated the self-help groups which got loans from bank and the beneficiaries received the homes under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana.

He suggested the groups to boost income by establishing self-employment. These groups have been given jobs like midday meal preparation for schools and ready-to-eat meal for Aanganbadi centres. Later in the day, Speaker Agrawal attended a self-employment fair at village Pali. Here, he informed that around 11,280 kids received training in 2017-18, out of which 183 got placement and 733 started their own business. He also invited the kids to the stage to share their experience.

Agrawal attended the third programme of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan at village Janglor of the Palari
Nagar Panchayat, where he inaugurated an Aanganbadi Bhawan, Skill Development Computer centre, and distributed sewing machines. He also approved Rs 2.60 lakh for platform construction on a pond and levelling of school’s playground.
He also inaugurated a 33/11 kilovolt power sub-station at village Gidhpuri and approved Rs 150 crore for Palari-Watgun to Tumgaon road.
