MP, UP police join hands to crack gang rape case

A combined team of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh police is toiling hard to find any clue of accused involved in gang rape and loot with a girl at Hanuman Mandir situated in Odi Mod under the jurisdiction of Anpara police station.The incident was reported on May 5 when an engaged couple reached to worship at Hanuman Mandir. The door of temple was closed when couple was sitting on stairs when a group of 8 – 10 masked men armed with sharp edged weapons threatened them to life and took in adjoining dense forest area. The miscreants looted jewellery, cash and mobile phones from them and tied the boy with a tree and gang raped the girl on the tip of sharp-edged weapons. The victims reached at Anpara police station and lodged a complaint of loot and gang rape. Annoyed with the monstrous act with the couple, residents staged protest over working of police and pressed demand of early apprehension of the accused and maintaining law and order arrangements in the area.

Senior officers of Anpara police contacted Morwa police for their assistance in apprehending the accused. SHO of Anpara police station, Atul Kumar Singh, SDOP, Morwa, Dr. Kripa Shankar Dwivedi and SHO of Morwa police station, Narendra Singh Raghuvanshi conducted a meeting to prepare a work plan for identification and apprehension of accused.
Police have started listing of accused involved in illegal coal excavation, theft of scraps and listed criminals for further investigation into the case.
SHO of Anpara police station, Atul Kumar Singh informed that police have registered a case of
attack, loot and gang-rape against unidentified persons but the medical examination report of the girl is still awaited. He expected that the police will soon identify and apprehend the accused.
SHO of Morwa police station, Dr. Narendra Singh Raghuvanshi said that residents are annoyed with the incident but police are making its best efforts to unfold the case. Separate police teams are conducting a search for accused in forest and adjoining areas while informers have been activated to find any clue of accused.
