Cash, jewellery worth lakhs stolen in theft

Unidentified person broke into a house and took away cash and jewellery amounting to lakhs of rupees in village Benikhera under the jurisdiction of Bhedaghat police station.


According to Bhedaghat police, a man named Pradeep Patel (45), a resident of village Raunjha in Nunsar, Patan lodged a complaint that his sister named Ranjana Patel lived in village Benikhera. On Saturday morning, his maternal nephew Bhanu Patel informed him on phone about theft at his house. Receiving the information, he immediately reached at residence of his sister who informed that she along with his sister-in-law, Girja Bai, Maya Bai and son Nikhil were sleeping in the house. On Saturday morning, she woke up and found that commodities were spread everywhere in the house and almirah, its locker and other boxes were opened. She checked and found that cash of Rs 12,500 and jewellery missing from the safe of almirah. He charged that unidentified person broke into the house and took away cash and jewellery. Quantity of jewellery can be ascertained by his sister.


Receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and started investigation into the case. Acting on the complaint, Bhedaghat police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC, while further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.
