“LEADERSHIP of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is like a blessing for the country. He serves poor and needy with his strong and bold decisions. Modi’s vision proved an inspiration for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in Madhya Pradesh and the State has left Punjab behind and emerged on top in agriculture production in the country.
During the programme, CM Chouhan online transferred funds worth Rs 2,245 crore into accounts of over 10.80 lakh farmers. A total number of 29,621 farmers in Jabalpur district were given payment of Rs 98.46 crore.

The State Government has provided financial benefits of Rs 30,000 crore under different schemes to farmers in last one year and soon is going to constitute a Board for export of agriculture production to provide utmost benefits to farmers. The State will also enhance its irrigation facility upto 80 lakh hectares with investment of Rs 1.10 lakh crore in next five years,” said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing a mammoth gathering during State-level Kisan Mahasammelan and Utpadakta Protsahan Rashi Vitran Samaroh at Veterinary University ground in Jabalpur on Sunday.

Addressing the programme, Chouhan said that it is a day of festival as farmers will get price of wheat worth Rs 2,000 per quintal, including bonus of Rs 265 per quintal, which is highest in the country. It is an effort to make agriculture a profitable business and providing best price of wheat to farmers. This is also a historic achievement for Madhya Pradesh and BJP Government that an amount of Rs 2,245 crore was transferred into accounts of over 10.80 lakh farmers for procurement of 84.74 lakhs metric tonnes of wheat crop. Previous year, the State Government had paid Rs 1,974 crore to 12 lakh farmers for procurement of soyabean, urad, moong and makka crops under head of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana.

Chouhan said that being a farmer he understands ground level problems and requirements of farmers and tries to redress them with all sorts of efforts. To fulfill requirement of irrigation, electricity, finance and other essential agriculture resources to farmers. The Government had provided support price of onion worth Rs 800 crore, moong and urad crops of Rs 1,000 crore, paddy crops of Rs 1,655 crore and paid Rs 1,850 crore to farmers under Fasal Bima Yojana.

Even after reduced price of Chana, Masoor and Sarson, BJP Government provided price of Rs 4,400 and bonus of Rs 100 per quintal for Chana, while garlic crop was procured at the rate of Rs 800 per quintal.

Besides this, farmers were charged Rs 7,000 for electricity connections of agriculture pump set against the actual annual billing of Rs 42,000 and the rest was given by the State Government. Farmers have been given agricultural loan of Rs 27,350 crore on zero interest rate. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the Congress leaders have lost their patience after three times defeat in Assembly elections and trying to misguide farmers through fake claims.

Instead of replaying biased claims, the State Government is focused on service of people and paving development of State. Punjab Government has waived off farmers’ loan of Rs 2,500 crore against outstanding agriculture loan of Rs 69,000 crore.
