Collector Dr Sudam Khade told that he was feeling elated as elected representatives themselves approached him, seeking help in razing down dilapidated buildings and removing encroachments from drains and nullahs of city.

He was of the view that many time, elected representatives oppose any such drive but in this case they are demanding action. He assured Mayor Alok Sharma that shortly he will call the meeting of concerned department officials and will form teams to raze the dilapidated buildings and remove encroachment from nullahs. Mayor Alok Sharma told that 38 such places have been identified in Bhopal where either pucca construction has been done on nullahs or slums have been erected. Likewise, around 900 dilapidated buildings have been identified in city which also includes semi-government and government buildings. He requested district and police administration to help by keeping public security in view.
