Congress’ bid to protest against Amit Shah’s visit foiled

Congress workers were arrested by police and kept in captivity foiling their bid to protest visit of BJP National President Amit Shah, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with other eminent national leaders of the party to attend Election Management Committee meeting on Tuesday. Under the leadership of Congress leader Jabalpur East Assembly Constituency number 97, Gajendra Sonkar assembled near Supataal Pond when the cavalcade of BJP leaders was passing from this road the Congress workers have tried to show black flags and raised slogans. Meanwhile, Police had stopped the Congress workers and arrested Congress workers in large numbers with their leader Gajendra Sonkar and sent them to Gorabazar Police Station, where they were arrested.

Gajendra Sonkar added that “Congress party stands strong against forces raising communal tension. Communal tension arrises in areas where BJP leadership start its activities and even communal clashes takes place.” Congress leaders including Gajendra Sonkar, Pinkky Mudgal, Rakesh Yadav, Anand Sharma and a large number of Congress workers were arrested and later released. Similarly, Women Congress Wing leaders and workers were arrested by police foiling their bid to protest visit of BJP National President Amit Shah, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other eminent leaders.

Women Congress District President Rekha Jain informed women Congress workers were assembled at Naudara Bridge near statue of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi to offer prayers to make BJP free India but prior to that without mentioning any reason police arrested women workers. Eminent women Congress workers including Kamlesh Yadav, Kiran Thakur, Kirti Singh, Tarang Kashyap, Balvinder Maan and others have demanded resignation of Chief Minister for failure of BJP Government in State in controlling crime against women.

A group of Congress workers staged demonstration at Bhedaghat in front of venue of Election Management Committee of the BJP Madhya Pradesh. Congress workers led by Sanjay Yadav were demanding to meet BJP National President Amit Shah and to question Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and want to handover a memorandum complaining about ongoing corruption, failure of plantation on banks of river Narmada, etc. In this protest Sanjay Yadav along with party workers in large numbers were arrested by police.
