Fishermen community organises cleanliness drive at Gwarighat

Members of Fishermen community under banner of National Association of Fishermen organised a cleanliness drive at the banks of Narmada in Nishadraj Ghat, Gwarighat, recently. The programme ‘Sufalam Neer Naman, Laaye Jeevan Mein Basant’ was organised under guidance of State Media Incharge of Association Neelam Kewat. The programme commenced with worship of Shri Nishadraaj by putting vermalion and offering worship followed by worship of Goddess Narmada. Addressing the programme,R R Navik said that Nishadraj Maharaj Kewat Ji had helped Lord Rama in crossing the holy river Narmada, where he rested during his exile of 14 years in Ramayana.

There are various mentions in different religious epic books and scriptures. Distributing Prashad, Mamta Kewat given message to devotees to stop disposal of worship remains in river and water bodies in order to ensure the cleanliness of water resources. On this occasion eminent those who were present includes Neelam Kewat, Laxmi Sarla, Mamta, Pawan, Ashok, Rajesh Nishad, R R Navik, Rajendra Kewat, Meera, Vipin Barman, Ganesh, Mukesh, Dinesh, Dhanshayam, Ravi Sondhia, Prakash Nandkishore, Ramcharan, Vijay, Sudhir Kashyap and others.
