SPG conducts rehearsal for PM’s visit

PREPARATIONS are on on war footing for the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Special Protection Group (SPG) officials are closely supervising all preparations. The traffic police also made elaborate arrangement for regulating vehicular traffic for ensuring zero inconvenience to people visiting the public meeting venue.As part of preparation the full dress rehearsal led by SPG unit officials was conducted from helipad to BSP Main Gate for ensuring safe passage of the convoy of PM Modi. The rehearsal proved to be satisfactory for SPG officials and they approved it with minor changes.


According to information, all preparations are at the final stage for ensuring hassle free and smooth visit of PM Modi. The senior officials from administration, police and BSP are rendering round the clock services for ensuring smooth conduct of the public meeting. All necessary arrangements have been made to deal with any eventuality and emergency situation effectively. The top ranking officials, deployed at the venue are briefing the forces and other working groups at regular interval for making the preparation in accordance of SPG directives.


As learnt from the sources considering the persisting humid condition as many as 50 air-conditioners have been pressed into service at the main-stage and at the selected places in the venue. More than 600 coolers have been installed for keeping the avenue of meeting cool. Besides, 4 bore-wells are already dug for ensuring perpetual water supply and for dealing with any eventuality. If the sources are to be believed the people visiting the public meeting venue will also be entertained with snacks packets and those visiting the venue from remote villages will be treated with sumptuous lunch.


On the day of PM’s visit, traffic police has already made arrangements in advance for smooth vehicular traffic in various routes and avenues to public meeting place along with earmarking over 30 places for vehicle parking. The forest avenue isearmarked for passing of VVIP cavalcade and it will remain closed for general public while, Central Avenue will remain open for people throughout the day. The traffic police also diverted road traffic from various directions bypassing the public meeting venue. As per arrangements the traffic from Patan-Maroda to Durg will pass through Maroda Turning via DPS Chowk and vice versa. The vehicular traffic from Durg, Berojgar Tiraha to Forest Avenue, Civic Centre Complex to public meeting venue, Miraz Talkies to Jayanti Stadium and the road leading from Bhilai Niwas main gate would remain prohibited for public.


The parking arrangements for VIP and Media have been made at Traffic Park Civic Centre, Bank Complexes and TA Building while the Police Control Room Sector-6 Ground has been earmarked for vehicle carrying the security forces. It is specially mentioned that the BSP employees could reach the plant through Central Avenue to Boriya Gate directly. The parking for Raipur traffic has been made at Police Petrol Pump Sector-6 Ground, Gurunanak School, SNG School, Sector-4, Bhilai Vidyalaya, Sector-2, BSP School, Sector-4 for heavy vehicle while parking places earmarked for LMVs are at Berojgar Tiraha, Kala Mandir, Opposite Akshya Patra in Sector-6 and parking for Dhamtari-Utai and Newai traffic are at BSP Risali Maidan and its adjoining places. Similarly, Rajnandgaon, Balod Pulgaon Durg traffic, the parking places are around BSP School Sector-10. Traffic from Y-Shape Bride around SSS, Sector-7 and parking arrangements for two wheelers traffic has been made at Civic Centre, Apna Supar Bazar and Kala Mandir.
