DGP Upadhyay directs officials regarding security

A N Upadhyay, Director General of Police (DGP), Chhattisgarh alerted police officials regarding the safety of PM, Modi during his visit to Bhilai in a specially convened meeting. Ashok Juneja, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Intelligence; G P Singh, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Durg Police Range; Dipanshu Kaabra, Inspector General of Police, Bilaspur Police Range; Dr Sanjeev Shukla, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Durg and senior police officials from the State attended the meeting, held at IGP, Durg Police Range office in Bhilai on Thursday.


DGP, Upadhyay reviewed the security arrangements thoroughly in the meeting and issued necessary directives. He specifically said that ensuring security of Prime Minister, Modi is the task of paramount importance and so all the officials deputised on security duty should consider it as their moral
obligation, and perform their duty with full alertness and due sense of responsibility. In the course of meeting, IGP, Singh apprised DGP, Upadhyay regarding the elaborate security arrangements, stating that over 4,000 security officials and personnel were deployed for ensuring the security of PM, Modi during his visit to Bhilai on Thursday. He also apprized about the huge number of people, likely to attend the public meeting and that the police have already made the plan by charting out the route diversion for ensuring smooth movement of all vehicular traffic and also the zero inconvenience to people thronging to public meeting venue on the day. All the security arrangements have been made in close supervision of Special Protection Group (SPG) officials, personally inspecting the security arrangement and noting all minute details, specifically at the public meeting venue.
