Update files of listed criminals prior to elections: IG to officers

INSPECTOR General of Police (Jabalpur Zone) Anant Kumar Singh chaired a crime review meeting and sought information about law and order arrangements at his office on Wednesday. During the meeting, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jabalpur and Chhindwara ranges, Superintendents of Police, Jabalpur, Katni, Chhindwara, Seoni and Narsinghpur districts were present. Addressing the meeting, IG Anant Kumar Singh directed officers to update files of listed criminals prior to forthcoming elections and follow guidelines of the Election Commission. He instructed officers to solve pending cases of blind murder, loot, attempting murder, dacoity, chain-snatching, rape and other sensitive crime cases and ensure identification and apprehension of accused.

IG Singh directed to take sensitive note in women related cases and provide training to head constables and constables on every Saturday and Sunday. IG Anant Kumar Singh district-wise reviewed graph of solved and pending cases and maintenance of law and order arrangements and sought information about apprehension of warrantees. He also took information about cases pending in district and high courts. Senior officers were strictly directed to review law and order arrangements in their respective areas during forthcoming Eid festival and keeping a vigilant eye on suspicious elements to take preventive action against them. Officers were directed for police station wise review of women related crime cases and identification of black spots their respective areas for taking preventive action. The IG also instructed officers for prompt redressal of complaints of police employees. He also said for promotion of police internship scheme to introduce meritorious students with work culture of police department. The Superintendents of Police should ensure monitoring of the scheme in their respective districts.
