Light Bulb

IT WAS middle of the night. I woke up and checked the clock showing 3:45 am. Sleepily, I stood up and was unknowingly about to place my foot onto a skate shoe. But the rays from the light bulb warned me and a terrible disaster was averted. That episode taught me a lesson; there are a few people in our life who play the role of ‘Light Bulb’.

Though a ‘Light Bulb’ is a tiny object and doesn’t possess big brightness, it helps in dispelling darkness. So do well-wishers. They bring a ray of hope and encouragement during bad phases. People who play the part of ‘Light Bulbs’ in our life stand by us in bad times and share our joy during happy times.

Good and bad times are part of everyone’s life. It keeps on changing. Misfortune doesn’t last forever. ‘There was never a night or a problem that defeat sunrise or hope’, Bernard Williams has quoted. This quote gives a spirit of hope that every problem will vanish soon. The hands of clock revolve around just 12 numbers but each hour, each minute, each second bring something new and surprising.

A game produces a winner and a loser. But it is never the end of the world. Time gives another chance to change the result in the next game. Everything or every period has to end. Nothing is permanent. Hope never dies. A quote by Ram Charan inspires many: “The sky takes on the shades of orange during sunrise and sunset, the colour that gives you hope that the sun will set only to rise again”.

An attitude of hope can defeat every problem. Agreed, stress brings restriction on thinking positively in critical times but encouragement comes from people around us who shine like the ‘Light Bulb’.
