Grameen Dak Sevak organises rally in support of their demands

Grameen Dak Sevak (GDS) Durg division is on strike from May 22. All India Grameen Dak Sevak Sangh took out a peace rally on Friday from Main Post Office and traversed Gandhi Chowk, Patel Chowk, Jawahar Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Hotel Maan, Luchaki Pond, Mahatma Gandhi School, Old Bus Stand and terminated at Main Post Office.Circle President and Divisional Secretary Dinesh Sharma told 1,000 out of 1,100 Grameen Dak Sevak from districts of Durg, Rajnandgaon, Balod, Bemetara and Kawardha participated in the rally. In rural areas GDS perform all duties performed in a Post Office apart from distribution of Dak. 2,70,000 GDS workers are on strike throughout the nation.


National office bearer Samson congratulated Dinesh Sharma and workers for massive rally and dharna demonstration. He pointed out Grameen Dak Sevaks are working 10-12 hours for meager salary. Kamlesh Chandra Committee submitted report one and half year back submitted report one and half year back for implementation of 7th Pay Commission pay scale but it has not been implemented yet.
