Rural Agriculture Extension Officers’ Assn protest for demands

ONGOING strike of Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department field staff choked information updates to farmer about advance farming. The ongoing strike of Madhya Pradesh Rural Agriculture Extension Officers’ Association (MPRAEOA), Jabalpur unit organised to press their three-point demand continued on day-five. Senior member of Association, D K Nema added that earlier too indefinite strike was called by Association but on assurance of Minister Agriculture, Government of Madhya Pradesh the strike was called off. But even after 14 months, no concrete decision was taken by Minister Agriculture due to which an ire grown amongst MPRAEOA members and have decided to go on indefinite strike.


S K Bandil, District President added that the impact of MPRAEO strike started affecting work of soil test sample collection, seed distribution system for kharif season, registration of agricultural implements and above all the advisory given by the field and technical staff to farmers is hampered at large scale. In series, on Saturday, Congress workers would stage recitation of Sunderkant Path praying for good consciences to State Government on the issue at 1.30 pm in Civic Centre. Eminent employees protesting include Yogendra Dubey, D S Birchia, R K Paroha, Govind Bilthare, S D Gupta, Rajneesh Dubey, G P Manjhi, Sushma Jharia, Mamta Thakur and others attended the ongoing protest.
