World’s largest yoga event held in Kota, Rajasthan

More than 2 lakh people performed yoga under the guidance of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev at one place setting up a new world record

More than 100 individual world records were created during the event

THE fourth International Yoga Day was celebrated at the RAC Grounds, Kota, Rajasthan under the collaboration of Patanjali Yogpeeth and the Rajasthan Government.
Across the two-kilometre long stretch and around 500-metre breadth of the huge RAC Grounds, more than two lakh people gathered to perform yoga under the protocol demonstrating discipline, solidarity and unity.


Earlier, the world record for the maximum number of people participating at one place was around 35,000 which was created by the Ayush Ministry when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi performed yoga at Rajpath in 2015. The other record was made in Ahmedabad on June 21, 2017 on the occasion of International Yoga Day under the collaboration of Patanjali Yogpeeth and the Gujarat Government amidst Vijay Rupani and Amit Shah with 54,000 people taking part in the event. Just after three months, the district administration of Mysore organised another yoga event and the new record with 55,000 people got made.


Now, the latest record of over 2 lakh people has been created under the guidance of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev along with the support of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia in collaboration with Patanjali Yogpeeth and Rajasthan Government at the RAC Grounds, Kota. informs a press release.


During the programme, team from the Guinness World Records handed over the certificate to Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. Vasundhara Raje Scindia and Gaurav Goyal, DM, Kota.


The team from the Guinness World Records had one observer over 50 people which meant that more than 4,000 members were appointed for the event, who were monitoring yoga as per the protocol. As part of their team, Rebeca had come from England and Swapnil was there.
During the event, more than 100 individual world records
were also created.


The dignitaries present at the event were Kalicharan Sarraf, Minister of Health and Ayush, Rajasthan, Babulal Saini, Agriculture Minister, Vice-Chancellor of Patanjali Yogpeeth Acharya Balkrishna, Om Birla, MP, Sadhvi DevPriya and Chief Central Officer Dr Jaydeep Arya. Also present were millions of aspiring medical and engineering students, adds the press release further.
