Indian High Commissioner for Uganda Ravi Shankar paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh at his official residence along with his delegation. During the meeting, the delegation held interaction on possibilities of commerce and industries between Chhattisgarh and Uganda apart from other significant issues. On the occasion the Chief Minister gave a rousing welcome to the delegation and informed them about the socio-cultural and natural specialties of the state. CSIDC Managing Director Sunil Mishra was also present on the occasion. Later the delegation heldmeeting with Additional Chief Secretary Sunil Kujur at Mantralaya. During the meeting possibilities of investment in establishing industrial, commercial, agricultural, food processing units were discussed between Uganda and Chhattisgarh were discussed. Emphasis were given on investment on establishing of steel and aluminum units and coffee plantation during the meeting apart from possibilities of holding cultural exchange programmes.


Secretary (Industry) Dr Kamalpreet Singh gave detailed information about the schemes and programmes pertaining to industries and trade of Chhattisgarh government. He also informed about the socio-economic and welfare schemes being run by the state government. The delegation was also presented with coffee-table books pertaining to the development which had taken place in the state. The meeting was also attended by Vikas Bhaskar MD Rashtriya Swachchta Mission and Sunil Jain Registrar Cooperatives department and other senior officials.
