Cheating with farmers: Biotech Co agent nabbed

Continuing investigation of the cheating case registered at Arang police station in which the then Bank of Baroda branch manager was earlier arrested for duping a couple of farmers on the pretext of polyhouse, Raipur Police has now arrested Ghanshyam Dhruv, who was the agent of Bhopal based Prabhavi Biotech Company that made polyhouse in the farms of the complainant farmers Domar Singh Dhruv and Mohan Lal Dhruv.

The accused agent for polyhouse in association with concerned director, manager and the accused branch manager of the bank had cheated the farmers. The complainants were given false assurance regarding subsidy from government and loans were approved in their names from the bank.In place of 2600 sqft, only 1800 sq ft polyhouse construction was done, but bill for 2600 sqft was passed as the accused bank manager was hand-in-glove with
the others.

For each of the complainant farmers the amount financed was Rs 30 lakhs and the same was withdrawn by the accused by using signed blank cheques of complainants which they had given in course of compliance with formalities in the bank.
The accused agent Dhruv, 46, hails from Mahasamund district, but presently resided at Housing Board, Boriakala that falls in the limits of Mana police station.
