Driver killed as two trucks collide near Lalbarra

A speeding dumper collided with a truck coming the opposite direction near Manpur petrol pump around one kilometre from the block headquarters. The driver of the dumper died on-the-spot while others sustained serious injuries.According to information, dumper (MP 22 H 1253) laden with gravel from Bandol of Seoni district was going to Balaghat, while another truck (CG 10 R 6066) laden with fodder was going to Seoni from Balaghat. Both the vehicles were driven at high speed and collided near petrol pump.

On being informed, police and Ambulance 108 reached the spot. The driver inside the dumper was taken out and was dead when examined by ambulance staffers. Police made panchnama and sent the body for autopsy to government hospital. At the time of panchnama, the deceased driver was identified as Anwar Hammu Khan (54), resident of Bandol. The truck driver sustained injuries but managed to flee from the spot. A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against the absconding driver. Both the vehicles have been seized by the police. The absconding driver has been identified as Irshad Aneesh Khan, resident of Dongargarh, Chhattisgar state.Dr T C Meshram performed autopsy and the body of the deceased was handed over to the family members who reached at the government hospital after being informed by the police.
