Rao’s cartoon selected in International Exhibition

The cartoon based upon deteriorating environment by retired BSP officer and renowned cartoonist B V Panduranga Rao has been selected in the International Cartoon Exhibition to be held in China. Here it may be mentioned that last month Rao has been felicitated by China for one of his caricature. The cartoon made by Rao depicts the civilisation of man from Primordial man to modern man, who is carrying mask and cylinder. This cartoon has been selected for the China Shillingol Vocational College’s First International Cartoon Contest, organised by Inner Mongolia Artist Association. This cartoon has been displayed in the Excellent Cartoons’ Category.

Rao informed that around 375 cartoonists from all over the world have sent their entries for the above competition, wherein 168 were selected including his entry, for the cartoon exhibition. After retiring from BSP, Rao is presently residing at Benguluru. Last month he was invited in China in the First International Portrait Caricature Festival, held at Beijing on May 26. Where he was awarded the cash award and a citation, but he could not visit China personally to collect the award due to some Visa related issues and personal reasons. However the award was sent from China to him through post. Paunduranga Rao has dedicated his award to Bhilains.
