CM dedicates new rooms to Central School

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Sunday dedicated new buildings, rooms and other infrastructural works for two additional sections in the Central School-2 at Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar. Dr Singh also unveiled the statue of Swami Vivekananda and visited the Smart Class along with MP Rajesh Munat, Chhattisgarh Text Book Corporation Chairman Devji Bhai Patel, Raipur North MLA Shrichand Sundarani, Collector OP Choudhary and District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Deepak Soni.


School was received a lot of applications for the demands of study in Central School, but due to shortage of classes, and building, school couldn’t take increase the seats.
Considering which District Administration Raipur had sanctioned money under the District Mineral Fund and on the basis of this, Central School-2 has approved increasing from 2 to 4 sections in classes 1st to 9th.


Now the school can accommodate 1000 additional students. A Budget of Rs 2.5 crore was spent on construction of 24 rooms, and other developmental works. It’s important to note here that this is first Central School of the nation, where District Administration is constructing the building. The same fund was used to upgrade all the classes into smart classes. Laboratory, computer room and library were also built.
In addition, dome, Children Park, open air gym, open stage, and paved surface were constructed. Around 6000 applications were submitted for the extra 1000 seats this academic session.
