Farmers throw veggies on road, spill milk on Day 4 of agitation

On the fourth day of their movement on Monday, farmers, in some parts of State, resorted to throwing vegetables on road, spilling milk, etc. In Bhopal, farmers distributed vegetables for free. Gradually, anger is brewing among peasants and Government is keeping a close watch on the situation. So far, farmers’ movement has been peaceful. Talking to “The Hitavada”, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Anil Yadav told that farmers distributed vegetables for free in Neelbadh area of Bhopal. Moreover, farmers also registered their protest by throwing vegetables on road in Betul and Mandla. Apart from this, when farmers were not allowed to distribute milk in Government hospital of Badwani, they spilled milk on road.
With the passing of every day of farmers’ movement, people have started to feel the heat as vegetables are becoming costlier. The supply of vegetables to mandis is totally cut off. Rates of vegetables have increased sharply. Now green vegetables are being sold at Rs 40 per kg in Bhopal.

As farmers are not reaching mandi’s, hence mandi’s are wearing a deserted look. The Karond mandi is lying empty as farmers have limited themselves till villages. Same is the situation in mandi’s at other places in State. Farmers are protesting under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union and Rashtriya Kisan Majdoor Sangh. Bharatiya Kisan Union is led by Anil Yadav, while Rashtriya Kisan Majdoor Sangh is led by Shivkumar Sharma “ Kakkaji”. In the meantime, as a sign of protest, Bharatiya Kisan Union members did anointment of District President of Mandsaur Kisan Union, Bhagat Singh Borana with milk. Farmers are demanding waiver of their loan, withdrawal of cases filed against farmers during last farmer movement, etc.
