Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath said that there are 60 lakh bogus voters in Madhya Pradesh. Congress has made complaint with Election Commission of India. EC acted promptly over the issue by sending probe teams to State and Congress welcomes EC’s decision in this regard.
Addressing the mediapersons at Congress headquarters in State capital on Monday, Kamal Nath said “We have given presentation to Election Commission over fake voter list issue. It is astonishing that Madhya Pradesh population increased 24 percent, while State saw 40 percent rise in voters.” He alleged that name of one person appears in voter list of some other place. “This is not a mistake, but it is deliberate attempt and it is a fraud. Even name of Uttar Pradesh people are found in the voters’ list of areas adjoining Uttar Pradesh,” he claimed. He added that BJP is tight-lipped over the issue and this shows that administrative office was misused in preparations of voter list, which is base of democracy and it is due to democracy that India is known in the world.

Going retrospective, he told that even in by-elections of Mungawali and Kolaras Assembly seats, 15,000 fake voters were detected. He informed that Congress has given CDs of voter list of 101 Assembly constituencies to Election Commission. Moreover, he told that Congress is keeping a close eye on those officers, who are having BJP’s badge in their pocket. He also accused State Government of intimidating farmers so that they should not take part in Rahul Gandhi’s rally to be held in Mandsaur on June 6, which happens to be first anniversary of the incident, in which at least six farmers died in police firing last year. He said that police are trying to build pressure on farmers by using different kind of tactics and even vehicles are being toed away to police stations. “Government is bent on making Rahul Gandhi’s rally unsuccessful,” he said.
