Rakesh Singh plants saplings on World Environment Day

TO mark World Environment Day number of public representatives planted saplings near Seeta Sarovar at Shanti Nagar in Rajiv Gandhi ward, on Tuesday. BJP State President Rakesh Singh, Mayor Dr Swati Godbole along with other public representatives planted saplings of variety of plants and took pledge to conserve environment. They also stressed need of collective efforts to protect environment.Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Dr Godbole said the climatic conditions are deteriorating fast. Hence, it is essential to take environment conservation on top of the priority list. On the occasion, she called upon people to plant saplings in their surroundings and help to decrease the danger looming large over environment. Expressing his views on the occasion, BJP State President Rakesh Singh said the State and Union Government are making untiring efforts towards environment conservation but desired and better results could be achieved with public participation. He appealed people to plant saplings at their dwelling and in surrounding areas.

Mayor along with Mayor In-Council members also planted saplings at Dumna Nature Reserve and directed concerned officials to ensure proper maintenance of the samplings.Amongst those present on the occasions include MIC member Kamlesh Agrawal, Shriram Shukla, Municipal Commissioner, Chandramouli Shukla, Deputy Commissioner, Gajendra Singh Nagesh, Rohit Singh Kaushal, Garden Officer, Aditya Shukla, Divisional Officer, Kuldeep Tiwari, Chief Health Inspector, Dharmendra Raj and others.
