Rinku Khanuja commits suicide

The sex CD fiasco involving a state Minister, which brought turbulence in the state politics, took a nasty turn on Tuesday, when one Rinku Khanuja, an automobile dealer, reportedly connected to the sex CD case who was being interrogated by Central Bureau of Investigation committed suicide on Tuesday morning.Rinku Khanuja is cousin brother of hotelier Lovely Khanuja, who is also under CBI radar and is also being interrogated. CBI had reportedly sourced out information regarding the alleged involvement of the Khanuja brothers in the sex CD fiasco after interrogating BJP leader Kailash Morarka.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had been interrogating Lovely Khanuja and Rinku Khanuja vigorously, since June 1. If the police sources are to be believed, Rinku Khanuja was summoned by CBI on Monday for further interrogation. He had left his house on Monday and didn’t return. On Tuesday morning at around 10am, he reportedly committed suicide by hanging self in the second floor of his shop – Arjun Automobile, situated at Goverdhan Chowk.

Meanwhile, if the sources are to be believed, Rinku Khanuja had sent his last message on Monday morning at around 9 am, wherein, he had reportedly bid good-bye to his family. As the matter came to light, it has created sensation in the Capital. Police have initiated thorough investigation into the whole incident.Putting an element of suspicion into the whole incident, mother of Rinku Khanuja while talking to mediapersons alleged that CBI had been taking her son into custody everyday since June 1 in the name of interrogation. On Monday also, Rinku had left his house at 8 am after he was summoned by CBI, since then he didn’t return.

Sources averred that during investigation, the CBI had vigorously interrogated him in the presence of Kailash Murarka and an influential businessman. It is also being stated that the CBI has sufficient evidence about the involvement of the said influential businessman and the BJP leader in the preparation of the sex CD. However the whole matter is still under investigation.It may be recalled that the Central Bureau of Investigation is carrying out investigation in the infamous sex CD case involving PWD Minister Rajesh Munat after the Minister had lodged a formal complaint in this direction. The CBI officials led by CBI DSP Richpal Singh had been recording the statements of many people since last few days after interrogating them. Journalist Vinod Verma, who is out on bail in the same case, had also appeared before the CBI on Monday. He remained with the CBI officialsfor about half an hour and left. It may be recalled that the High Court had given conditional bail to Verma, wherein, he had to appear before the CBI officials twice a month, on first and last Monday.

Meanwhile, the CBI officials also visited the bungalow of PWD Minister Rajesh Munat since last two days and questioned him on various aspects of the case. During preliminary investigations, CBI came to know that the sex CD was prepared in Mumbai. Thereafter, the CD was brought to Raipur and was reportedly sold to stakeholders. This fiasco was going on since last six years. During course of investigation, the CBI got inkling about the persons involved in the whole fiasco.

The CBI started its questioning at first by interrogating BJP leader Bajaj and journalist Vinod Verma. Thereafter they also questioned CPCC President Bhupesh Baghel and CPCC Spokesperson R P Singh amongst others. They also questioned Bhilai based businessman Vijay Bhatia and Bhilai Mayor Devendra Yadav. Later after getting indications, the CBI questioned BJP leader Kailash Morarka. During questioning of Murarka, the CBI officials were able to connect the missing links in the case. The statements of Murarka were verified and his call details were matched with his statements. Thereafter, the CBI decided to question hotelier Lovely Khanuja, which was undergoing since couple of days. The questioning of Khanuja brothers also revealed several important links.
