CM dedicates devpt works worth Rs 100 cr

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh dedicated and laid foundation stones for 21 development works worth nearly Rs 100 crore at the mega public meeting held at playground of Government Higher Secondary School Hringirishi. This includes extension work of 22-km long Nagri distribution canal of Sondhur canal till Dugli and renewal work of 61-km long road from Dhamtari to Nagri worth Rs 60.53 crore.Addressing the mammoth gathering Chief Minister said that he had sanctioned canal related demand of people during ‘Lok Suraaj campaign’, and now he is happy that now that the demands are being made the lifeline of this area will transform. Chief Minister also announced upgrading of Kukrel from sub-Tehsil to Tehsil.

Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh has been a leading state in the country in terms of implementation of various schemes such as Prime Minister Housing Scheme and Ujjwala Scheme. This is the reason why Prime Minister Narendra Modi has mentioned multiple times about Dhamtari district in his speeches and the decision of converting narrow railway line from Kendri to Dhamtari into broad gauge railway line has been taken. Development of this broad gauge line, worth nearly Rs 550 crore, will open doors of all-round development for the entire region.

Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is the only state of the country, which distributed tendu patta bonus worth Rs 700 crore to labourers engaged in collection of tendu patta. Wages of tendupatta collectors have been gradually increased from Rs 800 per standard sack to Rs 1500 per standard sack and finally to Rs 2500 per standard sack at present. Chief Minister informed people about the two upcoming schemes, saying that 50 lakh citizens of Chhattisgarh will be provided smart phones in coming four months. For this, work of cable line laying and improvement of connectivity is underway at an accelerated pace. He said that Prime Minister Modi has started ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’, which will provide free healthcare facility up to Rs 5 lakh every year to 37 lakh poor families of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister distributed ‘aabaadi patta’ to 13,722 beneficiaries and grants and materials worth Rs 33 lakh to 1071 beneficiaries on behalf of Labour Department. Dr Singh distributed umbrellas, radios and diesel pump to 301 Kamaar families. He also distributed paddy bonus worth Rs 104 crore to 80,000 farmers.On the occasion, Panchayat and Rural Development, Health and Family Welfare and Parliamentary Works Minister Ajay Chandrakar presided over the programme. The programme was addressed by MP Vikram Usendi and MLA Shravan Markam. Chairman of State Disable Finance Commission Sarla Jain, District Panchayat President Raghunandan Sahu, Mayor Dhamtari Municipal Corporation Archana Choubey, Janpad Panchayat President Nagri Pinky Shivraj Shah, President Nagri Nagar Panchayat Nand Yadav and many public representatives, panchayat representatives and a large number of villagers were present at the pubic meeting.
