3 accused in chain snatching case held

The chain snatching incident reported on 4.6.2018 has been resolved by Sanjeevani nagar police. Three accused of loot have been apprehended and also, the gold chain snatched has been recovered and the motor bike used by the three miscreants has also been seized. This was told to media by Additional SP Crime Sandeep Mishra in a press conference called upon on Thursday evening. Three accused nabbed by police are victims of chronic addiction and used to indulge in loot to meet addiction expenses.

Giving details of the crime, it was informed that, on 4.6.2018, the victim woman named Shashi Dubey, resident of Dhanwantari Nagar, was returning home after having procured some goods from the market. The victim was on foot, going back home around 5.30 pm was intercepted by three bike-borne miscreants while she was near her colony.
The miscreants, who swiftly grabbed the gold chain of the woman, managed to flee from the spot, leaving the woman in a state of shock. Left with no option, she reached home, told her family members about the happening and reached Sanjeevani nagar police station along with her family members. Accordingly, case was registered against the three unidentified accused behind the incident of chain snatching.
When the chain snatching incident was informed to higher officers, sensing the gravity of the crime, instructed to apprehend the absconding accused. SP, Jabalpur instructed the Crime Branch and police stations to carry out search of vehicles at random places.

ASP Crime Sandeep Mishra told that, on Thursday morning, special checking drive of vehicles was carried out. Cops found three miscreants on a motorbike who, despite being asked to stop by the police, did not stop, making the cops suspicious about their credentials. Accordingly, information was passed on wireless about three miscreants who did not stop even after being asked to stop. In between, cops from Crime branch and Sanjeevani nagar police station carried out hunt of the three miscreants, who were finally nabbed. (Contd on page 4)
