Thunderstorm with gusty winds in next 48 hours

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that monsoon is likely to hit Vidarbha on June 9 as it has already reached Goa and some parts of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
As per weathermen, Monsoon is just a step away from making its onset over Mumbai and as per the tradition, it reaches Vidarbha 2-3 days after hitting the state capital. At present, the pre-monsoon spell appeared on some part of Vidarbha in last 24 hours.


Weather department also predicted thunderstorm with gusty winds at isolated places over Vidarbha in next 48 hours.
The pre-monsoon spells brought the mercury down as temperatures in the region was recorded between 40 degree Celsius and 30 degree Celsius.


On Thursday, Brahmapuri recorded highest maximum temperature in Vidarbha with 40 degree Celsius. Other parts like Akola (37.5), Amravati (35.4), Buldhana (34), Chandrapur (38.2), Gadchiroli (38.4), Gondia (39.2), Nagpur (37.2), Wardha (36), Washim (36) and Yavatmal (35) got a relief from scorching heat. Amravati, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal recorded the highest humidity level over 90 per cent in the morning while the humidity level of other parts crossed 65 per cent in the morning hours. Earlier, rain and thundershowers hit Vidarbha. However, intensity of rains kept varying from very light to very heavy.


Yavatmal recorded highest 45.4 mm rainfall on Thursday in Vidarbha while Amravati (6 mm), Nagpur (5.8 mm), Wardha (15.6 mm) and Washim (4.3 mm) observed light rainfall.
